His Way Electric Corp partnered with Ounce IT to complete a full data cabling upgrade for Thacher Montessori School in Milton, Massachusetts—solving persistent network outages and slow data transmission caused by aging CAT5e wiring and outdated network hardware.

The project began with a Wi-Fi heat map survey by Ounce IT to identify coverage gaps and determine the best placement for new wireless access points. Based on their design, His Way Electric replaced all existing CAT5e cabling with high-performance CAT6 structured cabling, boosting data speed and reliability across the campus.

The installation included:

• Rewiring 85 in-wall data jacks

• Installing new cabling for 26 ceiling-mounted wireless access points

• Working through the summer months to minimize disruption to classes

In addition, the team relocated and reinstalled all core network equipment from the first floor to a newly renovated second-floor IT room—creating a clean, organized space for easier maintenance and long-term performance.

Throughout the process, His Way Electric coordinated closely with Thacher’s staff to keep the system operational during the transition. Once rewiring and testing were complete, the final cutover and relocation were executed seamlessly with Ounce IT.

Following the upgrade, Thacher Montessori has experienced dramatically improved network stability, faster access to cloud-based tools, and far fewer connectivity issues—helping teachers and students stay focused on learning, not troubleshooting.

The new CAT6 infrastructure not only enhances day-to-day performance but also provides a solid foundation for future technology expansion, including AI-driven learning applications and increased device connectivity.
